Hello! I’m Anja de Klerk, currently in my second year pursuing a BSc in Plant and Soil Science at Stellenbosch University, with a focus on horticulture and agronomy. I graduated in 2022 from Pearson High School in Port Elizabeth, where I achieved 7 distinctions: 94% in History, 94% in Afrikaans First Additional Language, 89% in Physical Science, 88% in Biology.
During my high school years, I was actively involved in leadership and extracurricular activities, serving as a Prefect, head of the Jesus Our Teacher (JOT) committee, and participating in the Afrikaans and Science clubs. These roles honed my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to community and educational service.
Currently, I am a member of the UNASA Sustainability Sub-Committee and the Ecomaties Sub-Committee at Stellenbosch, where I contribute to initiatives focused on environmental sustainability—a passion that aligns with my academic and career goals.
My interests are as varied as they are intense—I enjoy sports, hiking, reading, and particularly working with plants. These activities not only complement my studies but are also steps toward my dream of owning and operating my own farm one day. My diverse interests and academic background make me uniquely equipped to tutor students in a range of subjects, especially those related to science. I am excited to share my knowledge and passion, helping others to grow both academically and personally.
