About Alexander
Hi, I'm Alexander Johannes. I hold a BSc Honours in Mathematics with Economics and an MSc in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance, and I tutor for Grades 1 to 12 in Stellenbosch.
I studied abroad at University College London and the University of Amsterdam, and I've received multiple scholarships and awards, including the Orange Tulip Scholarship for my MSc. I've always been involved in tutoring and mentoring, and I enjoy teaching others, with a focus on problem solving as a way of learning.
In my second year at UCL I was one of two senior mentors overseeing the mentoring programme for first year students in the Department of Mathematics, and during my MSc I was a programme ambassador for my faculty. I have a relaxed, calm demeanour and I'm able to translate complex ideas into simple terms.
