Carmen Struthers

Hi, I'm Carmen Struthers, and I'm a third-year BSc Computer Science student at Stellenbosch University. I tutor Mathematics for Grades 1 to 12, along with Physical Sciences, IT, English and Afrikaans.

In 2025 I worked as an au pair for two kids in Grade 5 and Grade 9. It wasn't a formal tutoring role, but I helped them settle into a routine after school, kept them on top of their responsibilities, and made sure they had a positive, supportive space to come home to. In high school I took a mix of subjects, including IT, Physics and Design, because I like balancing logical problem solving with creative thinking, and that mix means I can adapt my approach to how each student thinks.

Outside of academics I'm usually hiking or at the beach, even in winter, or playing guitar and ukulele. I want lessons to make learning feel less daunting, and hopefully even enjoyable.
