About Neil

Hi, I'm Neil Marais, and I hold a BSc in Physics from Stellenbosch University. I tutor Physical Sciences for Grades 1 to 12, along with Mathematics, Maths Literacy, IT, Life Sciences and English.

I matriculated in 2020 with 8 A's and a 92% average, and finished my BSc in 2024 with 12 subject distinctions and 8 appearances on the dean's list. My teaching style focuses on broad conceptual understanding rather than memorising techniques or facts, because that's what actually helps students think through problems in different contexts.

I've tutored privately since my matric year in 2020, working with students from age 9 to 19 in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Maths Literacy. I spent two years as a part-time senior tutor at Kingdom Education Tutoring, and six months as a full-time tutor at Master Maths in Somerset West.
