About Nina

Hi, I'm Nina Smit. I'm studying BSc Mathematics and BSc Chemistry Honours at Stellenbosch University, and I tutor Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Mathematics Literacy for Grades 1 to 12.

I started tutoring in 2022 as a volunteer at Aitsa Aftercare Centre in Kylemore, teaching Grade 8 and 9 Mathematics to struggling and middle-range learners, and I'm currently tutoring Grade 10 Mathematics Literacy there. During my Honours year in 2024 I tutored first year BSc students who needed extra help with Chemistry, and in my spare time I tutored a high school learner one-on-one who was struggling with Physical Science.

I try to view every task as a chance to grow, and I care about honesty, integrity and kindness in how I work with students, encouraging them through the parts they find hard.
