About Wilhelm
Hi, I'm Wilhelm Basson. I'm in my second year of BCom Actuarial Science at Stellenbosch University, and I tutor Mathematics and Economics for Grades 1 to 12.
I matriculated from Paarl Gymnasium High School in 2023. Completing several university-level mathematics modules has deepened my own understanding of the subject and sharpened my problem-solving skills, which I bring into how I explain concepts to students.
I was elected academic mentor for first-year BCom Mathematical and Actuarial Science students in my residence, Eendrag, supporting them through their studies, and I regularly help friends informally with their academics as well. I've also had formal tutoring experience through a tutoring company.
I try to be dedicated, empathetic and patient, meeting students where they are and helping them grow more confident in their academic work.
