About Yongama

Hi, I'm Yongama Makosonke, a third-year Biomedical Mathematical Sciences student at Stellenbosch University. I tutor Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences for Grades 1 to 12.

I'm disciplined and genuinely enjoy helping people work through problems, whether that's in maths or in life. Outside my studies I like reading, exploring and meeting new people, and I try to bring that same openness into how I teach.

In 2024 I volunteered with Tomorrow Trust Tutors, teaching Mathematics to Grade 11 students in Khayelitsha, and in 2025 I volunteered with Arise, teaching Mathematics and English to Grade 6 learners in Kayamandi. Those experiences taught me a lot about connecting with students and explaining things clearly.
