Jana Basson

Hi, I'm Jana Basson, and I'm completing my Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Stellenbosch University, having already finished a BSc in Human Life Sciences. I tutor Life Sciences, Mathematics, Afrikaans Home Language, English Home Language and Art for Grades 1 to 12.

I matriculated from Stellenbosch High School in 2020 with 8 distinctions and an 89% average, with subjects including Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, History and Visual Arts. I have a big heart for people and I'm deeply invested in helping others build the skills and confidence they need, both academically and in everyday life, which is part of why I chose to pursue Occupational Therapy after my first degree.

In 2024 I served as the Siyafunda executive for UNASA, leading weekly tutoring sessions for high school learners at after-school centres in Kayamandi and for primary school learners at Youth Outreach children's home in Stellenbosch. Through my Occupational Therapy clinical placements I've also worked with children with learning impairments, which taught me how to adapt my teaching approach and break tasks down into manageable steps for each learner.
